Arab League’s slap on Syria regime Wednesday, 23 November 2011 02:11

The painful blows are hitting successively the Baathist regime in a country which is reluctant to stop the massacres and bleeding daily and committed to walk on the bodies of the defenseless people who are demanding change and reforms. The biggest task in drawing up a new future in the region is the toppling of the dictatorships, its organs and thugs who represent the Syrian regime in the ugliest form. The entry of freedom and democracy to the reluctant countries is like the entry of the message of monotheism to Makkah and the fall of the regime’s symbols is the closest to breaking the idols around Kaaba!

The Arab League’s resolution is no more than the last fig leaf that is covering the roughness of Syrian Baathist regime, but it burned most of the cards spread by the dirty political allies of the regime in Lebanon, Iran, Russia and China to cover up the continuing massacres. The Arab League waited for a long time of more than eight months to reveal that all the promises of reform and change were fake after thousands of deaths of innocent people, including children, tens of thousands of prisoners, displaced persons, migrants, fueling religious fanaticism, sectarian, destruction of towns, villages and cities and killing of their people in the streets. The initiative which came late is better than nothing of that sort from the outside. The Arab League’s resolution to suspend the membership of Syria is a significant historic decision. It is a quantum leap and a collective stand that adapts to the changing situation that is sweeping the region with its people and systems. We hope that it would be a bold message to the other Arab countries like Yemen or the countries which are likely to explode such as Algeria that the time has changed and the covering, twisting and rejection is not acceptable. The Arab League’s decision to go directly to address the Syrian army, try to isolate it from the regime (although many of its leaders have been raised dogmatically) and ask to protect the civilians may help to stop the killings. The use of splits and entry to the civil disobedience, as it happened in Romania which led to the fall of dictator Nicolae Ceausescu by the rebels, will be helpful. The positive dimension in persuading the hesitant and fearful groups, which didn’t take the firm decision regarding the Syrian people, especially in Damascus and Aleppo to join the peaceful popular movement is that the regime has to collapse and its allies, friends and the Arab states began to abandon it as they are stepping off the regime’s train heading into the abyss and it cannot stop or change its direction.

The Syrian regime could not control itself and went as usual for the game which it played very well in the last 50 years of rule by military boots to send the hollow threats, abuse and treason that were very clear in the statement of the frivolous Syrian ambassador who attacked brazenly the Arab countries that tried to take them out of their crisis, but they are wandering blindly in their insolence. The inflammatory Syrian and Iranian channels and stations also started the meetings of insults and curses against the Arab and Gulf countries, particularly Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait and hosted the experts who trade with the Arab issues and professional analysts to defend the eye doctor who wants to return to his clinic for the treatment of eye after the end of the process of reforms as Mufti of Syria “Hassoun” says, or in other words the elimination of all who ask for reforms or burst their eyes and turn them to blind and blind at the hands of the doctor? The Syrian regime proves its inability and failure and the besieged and regionally and internationally isolated Al-Assad does not have anything except sending the threats as did by the empty idols that preceded him (Saddam, Mubarak, Gaddafi and Saleh on the way). Al Assad in an interview with “The Sunday Telegraph” said that Syria was totally different from Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen and what is witnessed in Syria is the “clash of Arab nationalists (seculars)” and the Islamists including the Muslim Brotherhood since the fifties of last century and until today. The entry into a civil war and the possibility of the emergence of states can repeat the form of Taliban in Afghanistan, (it is the same previous statement with amendment that suits all countries) as he did not confine the Holocaust to home, but took to the outside transforming it into an “earthquake” that would “burn the whole region”. The Iranian news agency quoted Assad as saying that he would ask Hezbollah to open the firepower on Israel which no intelligence services expected, during the first three hours of six hours and in the other three hours Iran will hit the large U.S. barges anchored in the water of Gulf, while the Shiite of Gulf will move to strike the major Western targets and kill Americans and Europeans around the world and it will turn the Shiites in the Arab world to a group of Fedayeen (suicide bombers) towards each goal they deem opportune and they hijack Middle East aircraft.

(3) We call the Gulf Cooperation Council to hold an emergency meeting to ask the Member States to implement Arab League’s resolution to call back ambassadors from Syria, deport the ambassadors in the six Gulf states or give them a choice to request the political asylum, recognise the Transitional Council as legitimate representative of Syria, move with demand to convert the file of Syrian crisis to the Security Council and the corridors of the United Nations and the organizations that are concerned to impose economic sanctions and ensure the protection of civilians and call the similar Arab organizations to do what they can to protect the Syrians from oppression and repression.
